Sunrise on Good Friday page 4

At sunrise on Good Friday, Meg was awake, and standing by her bedroom window.  The window faced the Silver Forest.  The forest stood beyond a meadow full of golden, giant buttercups.  The glowing meadow stretched from the bottom of the farm's path to the evergreen woods.  The Silver Forest basked in the rays of the full moon.

The barn owls flew from there as they made their way back to the barn.  They hooted to each other before vanishing from sight. 

That morning, she thought about venturing into the woods.  Meg was curious.  She set off down the hill path towards the field on a fine, April day.

Am karfreitag fiel es ihr schwer, einzuschlafen. Meg schuute aus uhrem schlafzimmers ferister und beobatete den sonnenaufgang.  Sie horte das rufen der ealen die auf dem.  Ruckweg zur scheune waren.  Sie kamen aus einem  nagegelegenem.  Wald hinter der iwviese des bauemhofs.  Das feld lag um ende enes kleinen fuBwegs.  Meg entschied sich, den Silbenu aus spaB zu erbunden.  Und so machte sich das madchen auf den weg den hugel hinunter.

Op goeie vrydag het sy geskkel om aan die sonsopkoms dopgehou.  Sy het die getoeter van uile gehoor wat na die skuur terugteer.  Hulle het van'n nabygelee bos agter die plaas se weiveld gekom.  Die veld was aan die einde van'n klein voetpaadjie.  Meg het besluit om die Silwerwoud vir die te verken.  En so het die meisie teen die heuwel afgestap.
